Actually, it's TWO favorite snacks that are delicious together!
1) The first is baked apple slices - literally the easiest thing in the world, you just need a little bit of time.
+ preheat oven to 200 degrees
+ core and slice the apple (or apples)
+ place on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper
+ sprinkle with cinnamon
+ put in the over for one hour
+ flip the apple slices, sprinkle slightly more cinnamon and place back in over for one more hour
2) The second snack is homemade Lara Bars - also incredible easy but you do need a food processor. I don't have exact measurements because it depends on the stickiness of the dates.
+ put roughly 1 cup of shelled pistachios and roughly 1/4 cup of coconut flakes into a food processor or blender. Blend until finely chopped.
+ remove the contents of the blender into a baking dish (won't need to actually bake)
+ remove the pits from about 10-15 medjool dates and add to the food processor. Blend until chopped again. This should be very sticky!
+ add the contents to the same baking dish and mix the pistachio powder and chopped dates together BY HAND. If it is very sticky, you will need to add more pistachio/coconut flake powder and if it is not sticking together at all, you will have to add more chopped dates. The end consistency should be slightly sticky but not over-powering.
+ flatten the mixture using the back of a spatula or knife
+ sprinkle more coconut flakes on top and press in with spatula or knife
+ slice into bars
